Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation

Wrestling is one of the leading sports in the country.

The AWF management continuously keeps under surveillance and gradually resolves the issues that are important for the development of wrestling.

According to targeted and tactical strategy of AWF since 2007, along with the freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, the women's wrestling has also been developed in Azerbaijan.

8 regional representations have been operating under the AWF in our country according to the wrestling development dislocation.

Our wrestling athletes won 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals, a total of 11 medals at the XXIX Summer Olympic Games held in Beijing in 2008, and at the XXX Summer Olympic Games held in London in 2012.

The wrestlers won 14 licenses to the XXXI Summer Olympic Games held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 5 to 21 August, 2016.

Currently, athletes of the national team continue the final TNT (Top Notch Training) for preparation to the Olympic Games.

Events planned by the Federation are under constant control and care of the President of the Federation Mr.Fazil Mammadov and other Federation leaders.
