Sports holiday in Nakhchivan
Today, “March 05 - the Day of Physical Education and Sports” has been solemnly celebrated in Nakhchivan.
Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzadeh and about 120 delegations left for the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Guests laid a wreath at the monument to the national leader Heydar Aliyev and visited the Heydar Aliyev Memorial Museum.
The event continued in Nakhchivan Time Square. First, officials met with the sports veterans and gave them presents. Then they got acquainted with the stands of sports federations operating in Nakhchivan Time Square. After the federation officials provided information on the innovations and successes, local athletes demonstrated their skills through the short programs.
Then, the Minister of Youth and Sport of Nakhchivan Azad Jabbarov and Vice President of the National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzadeh said that the national leader Heydar Aliyev had assembled sports figures for the first time 25 years ago. Officials said it was a great pleasure to celebrate this holiday together in a great land like Nakhchivan.
In the end, about 10 sports specialists were awarded with honorary titles and diplomas.
The event continued with a concert program.
